this short trip had been an eye opening one. it was a short period of time that i'd used to reflect on many many things.
all in all, after the whole backpacking stint, the thing i find most haunting about cambodia is not its ruins, not the magnificient temples of Angkor, not the glorious silhouette of the monuments when dusk encroaches, not the eerie killing fields or museums, but the faces of the people. the children. The bright light in their eyes, but the seemingly bleak future awaiting them, certain as the first light of day is to shine upon the stony faces of Bayon for another hundred years to come.
Who would have thought would end like that
